More photo memories

Travel
This picture is from a trip we took in 2009 to Charleston, SC.  The trip was awesome!!!  We did a lot of sight seeing and pretty much wore our selves out doing it...but had so much fun in the process. The fountain had a sign that actually said to get in it...so we did...well at least Kristin and I did.  :)

Time
This picture is one of my favorite quotes about time.... #truth

Food
Food - glorious food!  If it wasn't for some of the gross stuff out there (like seafood) I could easily be considered a foodie.  Several years back Ron and I visited Memphis, TN and I made it a mission to eat as much BBQ as possible.  Before heading to Memphis we stopped in Clarksdale, MS.  After visiting the famous crossroads (you know the story, right?) we grabbed lunch at Abe's BBQ.  OMG - this might have been the best BBQ I have EVER had!!!  If you get the chance you have to eat there! Here's a link to their place: http://www.abesbbq.com/

Animal
Now you know what animal I will be posting a picture of right???  I will post a picture of Diezel every chance I get.  :)  Instead of a current picture though, I thought I would post one from one of the first days he was with us.  He was such a tiny little thing! I have a stuffed dog under a table in the living room...and it didn't take him long to find it. He loved this stuffed animal.  I think it made him feel like he was with his Mama or siblings...and he's still a snuggler.

 Cell phones
The last photo for this post is cell phones.  Cell phones have almost become a part of our anatomy. Almost everybody has one - even very young kids. They have evolved from being a device that just makes or receives a call to a tiny computer that fits in the palm of your hands.  Amazing!!!  Cell phones started as huge bricks...then got smaller and smaller...and now they are on the trend of getting bigger again.  Check out this evolution:

TV

Today's photo is TV.  Anyone that knows me knows how much I love TV!  I have always loved TV...since I was a little girl.  There are a lot of people that criticize watching too much TV...but for me there really isn't such a thing as too much TV.  :)

For me TV is a form of entertainment, a form of escapism, and sometimes just simply background noise.  I watch many different types of shows on TV but my favorite genre is crime shows such as Criminal Minds, Law & Order, Chicago PD, The Following, etc... I rarely watch sitcoms because I am not a fan of most of the things that are considered "funny" now-a-days (however I do really enjoy The Big Bang Theory).  I read TV Guide from cover to cover (and several other entertainment magazines).  Not only do I follow the listings but I love the articles.  I love to know everything I can about the shows that I watch...everything about the actors...everything about what's happening behind the scenes...everything!

My favorite show on TV right now is The Walking Dead.  The show has a huge following yet there are a lot of people who still refuse to watch it because they don't like zombies.  I think any other fan of the show would agree with me that The Walking Dead is about so much more than zombies.  In fact the zombies are really just a small part of the show.  The show is about how people deal in crisis situations.  How do people relate to others when everything they have ever known has been taken from them?  How do you survive when nothing is "normal" anymore?  When watching it I always wonder how I would reach in a similar situation (Don't worry...I'm prepared fro the zombie apocalypse).   If you haven't watched this show you really should give it a shot.  If you are fan like me I know you are anxiously awaiting for the Season 5 mid-season premiere on Feb 8!!

Movie

Today's photo is a movie....and again I couldn't pick just one...and I'm sure it comes to no surprise that I have picked movies with Vin Diesel in them.  :)

The first movie is Pitch Black from 2000.  It's the first movie that I saw Vin Diesel in and I was hooked on him immediately.  And that voice...oh my goodness...  "You're not afraid of the dark are you?"

IMDB link: Pitch Black

The Second movie is The Fast and the Furious from 2001.  This movie cemented my affection for Vin (and the entire Fast franchise).  I mean really, how could I resist Vin in fast cars...a 1970 Dodge Charger at that.  And started my love of Paul Walker...RIP.

Music

Music has always been a big part of my life.  I couldn't decide on just one artist or even one type of music for my photo today...so I chose my two favorites - Bon Jovi and Garth Brooks.

^^^This is not all of their music that I have. I'm pretty sure I have almost everything that they've released (almost)...but it's a pretty good sample. And I'm pretty sure I know the words to all of it (at least when it's playing).

I still remember clearly my first encounter with Bon Jovi.  It was while I was in High School.  I had actually went to a RATT concert with my BFF Pam and some others.  Bon Jovi was the opening act. When Jon Bon Jovi jumped onto that stage I looked at Pam and said "WHO IS THAT???"...and I've never been the same since...LOL.  From that day forward I have been a Jovi girl!  I have even stuck by them with their changes (yes, even the country phase) and expect to always be devoted to them.  Heck...I even have ink that is inspired by them!

I feel just as strongly about Garth.  The first time I saw him in concert was in Dothan, AL at the Peanut Festival.  He was on the cusp of mega stardom and still doing the fair / festival circuit.  People were crazy!  My ex said that night that he didn't think Garth would amount to anything.  One thing in a long line of things he was wrong about ... LOL!  I love all his music...even when he did the Chris Gaines album....and was super excited to see him live again this past year when he started touring again.

My Mama also loved Garth and once told me that when she died she wanted The Dance played at her funeral.  Sadly, I was able to make that happen when she passed away in 1994.  The song was perfect...

Bon Jovi and Garth's music has always played such a powerful role in my life.  It always seemed to fit whatever I was going through...good and bad...happy and sad.  Anytime I need a "pick me up" I listen to one of them....and plan to spend many more hours in the future listening to them.  I hope that each person reading this has music in their life that has affected them the same way Bon Jovi and Garth has affected me.

Some special memories...

A memory from 2002... This is one of my favorite memories from when we went on the the hunt for snow. We didn't find much snow on that trip but we sure had FUN!

Inspiring Person - River is a fantastic author who I've had the pleasure of knowing for several years. In fact, we actually worked together in another life. River has inspired me from day one...first in how she dealt with difficult people in trying times (she knows who I'm referring to I'm sure) and mostly in her ambition and success with becoming a best selling author. She continues to push me and encourage me to finish my novel...and I swear one day I will! Thanks for always inspiring me @realriverjordan !

Weekend - Nothing says weekend more to me than time spent with my furbaby. I know a lot of people probably get tired of all the pictures I post of Diezel but pictures are the window to the soul and this boy makes my soul happy! There's nothing I love more on the weekend than spending time with this boy. He loves unconditionally and makes me a better person by loving him.

One of the coolest modes of transportation I've taken is the Amtrak train when we went to DC in 2013.
It was AWESOME! Can't wait to travel that way again.

Sons of Anarchy - The Official Collectors Edition
I just received this book as a gift from my hubby for Christmas. There are many that may not appreciate this book as much as me because they didn't appreciate this show the way I did. The show has just ended it's 7 season run...and I was sad to see it end. I watched every episode...frequently asking myself why...and always going away processing what I had seen. Through all the violence and gore depicted in the show there was also love and honor...and a deeper meaning of what family really is (or should be). For this reason I know I will enjoy this book for a long time to come. It will help me relive some of my favorite moments in the show and will keep me excited for the prequel that is headed our way. ... As the crow flies straight... #SAMCRO
